the night before

In seven hours, I'll be heading to the airport. And in ten, I'll be on my first flight! It's been a very hectic day filled with last minute shopping, packing, and calling everyone involved in the process of getting me to Greece (phone company, credit card company, program director, two airlines, one booking site). Tip to those going abroad-- don't wait till the last minute. For anything! Also, allow more than a two hour layover in London if you're using two different airlines.

The plan right now is to sprint from plane to plane. Fingers crossed we make it. Wish us luck!

Stressed but still very excited,
Renee

first post!

Γειά σου!

My name is Renee and I'm a senior at a small liberal arts university majoring in Writing and Graphic Design. Someday I hope to be a published author, but for now, like a lot of kids my age, I don't really know where I'm headed post-graduation. I do, however, know where I'm headed on August 29th!

From the end of August to the beginning of December, I'll be studying abroad on the Greek island Aigina (not pronounced like the female body part), which is about 45 minutes from Athens by ferry. In addition to learning about Mediterranean culture and learning/attempting the Greek language, I'll be updating this blog to chronicle my experiences abroad. I hope you'll stick around!

-Renee

P.S. Only 3 days, 12 hours, and 30 minutes to go!
